About us
These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by Automotive Experts Private Limited (“Automotive Experts”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We provide automotive diagnostics, coding, control-unit programming, software installation, module commissioning and remote workshop support.
Our business address is Unit 2B, St Pauls Mill, Caroline Street, Bolton, BL3 6SX, United Kingdom. You can contact us at info@automotiveexperts.co or +44 7380 717353.
Acceptance of these terms
By booking, ordering or authorising a service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Any quotation, written service description and information agreed with you also forms part of the contract. If you are purchasing on behalf of a workshop, company or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.
Our services
Services may include vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, coding, software updates, control-unit programming, component commissioning, retrofit support, technical assistance and remote software installation. The exact service, vehicle, price and expected work will be agreed before work begins.
Diagnostic work identifies faults using the information and vehicle condition available at the time. A diagnostic result does not guarantee that no additional fault exists or that replacing a particular component will resolve every related issue.
Vehicle ownership and authorisation
You must be the vehicle owner, an authorised repairer or otherwise have lawful permission to request the work. We may ask for identification, proof of ownership, the vehicle registration document, VIN information or written customer authority.
We may refuse or stop work if ownership or authority cannot be verified, if information appears inaccurate, or if the requested work could compromise vehicle security, safety, emissions compliance or applicable law.
Information you must provide
You must provide accurate vehicle, fault, hardware and software information. You must disclose relevant previous repairs, modifications, tuning, replacement modules, damaged wiring, low battery conditions and unsuccessful programming attempts.
We are not responsible for delay, additional work or unsuccessful results caused by incomplete or incorrect information, undisclosed modifications, incompatible parts or faults outside the agreed service.
Quotations and prices
Prices shown on our website or supplied in a quotation relate to the described service and may depend on the vehicle, control unit, software, technical platform and work required. We will explain any material additional charge and request approval before carrying out additional paid work.
Unless stated otherwise, quotations are estimates based on the information available when issued. A quotation may be revised if the vehicle condition, required work or information supplied differs materially from what was originally described.
Booking and payment
We may require full payment or a deposit before reserving technical access, purchasing a licence, ordering a part or beginning work. Payment must be made using an accepted payment method. You remain responsible for authorised charges relating to additional work that you approve.
Orders may be declined or cancelled if a service is unavailable, a price is clearly incorrect, required technical access cannot be obtained, vehicle authorisation is not supplied or we reasonably believe that the service cannot be performed lawfully or safely.
Workshop appointments
You must ensure that the vehicle is reasonably accessible, safe to work on and supplied with adequate battery voltage and fuel or charge where required. Estimated completion times are not guaranteed because diagnostic and programming work may depend on fault conditions, manufacturer systems, internet services and third-party approval.
Please remove valuable personal property before leaving a vehicle with us. We will take reasonable care of vehicles in our possession.
Remote services
For remote services, you must provide a suitable Windows computer, stable internet connection, compatible diagnostic interface, reliable vehicle power supply and lawful access to the vehicle. A competent person must remain available at the vehicle when requested.
You authorise us to use an agreed remote-access application solely to provide the requested service. You must not operate the vehicle, disconnect equipment, interrupt power, close software or end the internet connection while programming is in progress unless instructed to do so.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by incompatible equipment, unstable internet, interruption of power, defective hardware, third-party systems, incorrect customer actions or pre-existing vehicle faults. If possible, we will explain the available next steps.
Software, coding and programming risks
Automotive programming involves technical risks, particularly where a control unit is damaged, incompatible, modified or previously programmed incorrectly. Software updates may change vehicle functions, settings or compatibility. We will perform the agreed service with reasonable care and skill but cannot promise that every control unit, retrofit or used component can be successfully programmed.
You are responsible for backing up data where a backup is reasonably possible and for informing us of any settings or data that must be preserved. We will not knowingly install unlicensed software or perform work intended to unlawfully defeat vehicle security, safety or emissions systems.
Manufacturer and third-party systems
Some services rely on vehicle manufacturers, authorised technical platforms, software publishers, remote-access providers or other third parties. Their systems may be unavailable, delayed, restricted or changed without our control. Any manufacturer subscription, licence or account remains subject to that provider’s own terms.
Cancellation rights for consumers
If you are a UK consumer and purchase a service online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you will normally have 14 days from the date the contract is made to cancel it without giving a reason, subject to the applicable legal exceptions.
If you ask us to begin a service during the 14-day cancellation period and later cancel before it is completed, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for the work already performed. Once a service has been fully completed following your express request and acknowledgement, your statutory cancellation right may end.
For digital content supplied immediately, you may lose the 14-day cancellation right once supply begins if you expressly consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that the cancellation right will be lost.
To cancel, send a clear statement containing your name, contact details, order or booking details and your decision to cancel to info@automotiveexperts.co. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Cancellations and missed appointments
Please notify us as soon as possible if you cannot attend an appointment. Where we have already purchased a non-refundable vehicle-specific licence, booked chargeable technical access or begun authorised work, we may deduct or charge the reasonable cost incurred, where permitted by law.
Problems with a service
Please contact us promptly if you believe a service has not been provided as agreed. Give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle, review the remote session or repeat the relevant work where appropriate. Services supplied to consumers will be performed with reasonable care and skill, as required by UK consumer law.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or breach of statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information, unauthorised modifications, pre-existing faults, defective or incompatible components, customer interruption of programming, or events outside our reasonable control.
For customers acting in the course of a business, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings or loss of opportunity, except where the law does not allow such liability to be excluded.
Website information
We try to keep website descriptions, prices and compatibility information accurate. Images may be illustrative. You should confirm vehicle compatibility and the precise service required before purchasing. Website content does not replace inspection or vehicle-specific diagnosis.
Intellectual property
Our website content, branding and original service materials may not be copied, resold or commercially distributed without permission. Manufacturer names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. References to vehicle brands describe compatibility or specialist experience and do not imply manufacturer affiliation unless expressly stated.
Privacy
We process personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions when our services, systems or legal obligations change. The terms applying to an order are normally those presented when the order or booking was accepted.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the law applicable to you.
